About the concept

This site is dedicated to covering the topic of personal power (in a nice way, of course), and the powerful effect it can have on our lives, and lifestyles. The two core concepts that I believe most important to the level of impact we have on the world, as well as those around us, are self-esteem – how much we value ourselves – and a positive attitude.  Hence the name “Self-Positivity”.

To an extent, this is about the journey I have made from feeling, acting and being treated like a victim in almost every aspect of my life, to drawing boundaries, taking responsibility, and re-creating my image of myself, along the way resulting in some very pleasant changes to my life and lifestyle – the friends I now have, and the work satisfaction I have enjoyed being just two examples.

My hope is that through this site, more people will discover the joys of a positive attitude and a good self-image, taking control of their lives and changing them for the better. This is not as selfless as it sounds. By creating this resource I am not only acknowledging and repaying the assistance I’ve had in my own journey, which has been priceless, but I’m helping create the world I want to live in – a world where positivity and confidence are the rule, where acknowledgement is made of the personal power we each have to shape and control our own lives…

About Me

The link under ‘Personal’ takes you to a brief biography, and a few other interesting points about me, including an astrological profile for those of you who are interested.

If you’re looking for my formal qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, followed by Honours in Education Social & Policy Studies, both from the University of Sydney. I have training certifications as well, plus quite a few other pieces of paper, but frankly, I consider my life experiences and where I am now to be the real qualifications – they mean much more than any certificate.

If you would like to know more about where I’ve come from, and the steps I’ve taken along the way, there is my archive diary site at CrystalsQuest or you can sign up for my free newsletter, (generally sent every week or 2) which contains a brief rundown on the latest news, research and musings, along with the lessons I’m picking up on the way.
